Painted Pages

I discovered paste paper in 1997 and have been addicted ever since! The technique I have developed since is non-traditonal, and incorporates layers (sometimes many) of paste, paint, pastels, watercolors, crayons and inks. We use symbols, stencils, transfers, lettering and journaling to create luminous pages. These pages can be used for artist's books, collage and scrapbooking, or any other paper craft.

The color portion of this workshop includes exercises in developing palettes, neutrals, contrasts and depth, and how to fix a page you were about to give up on. We will discuss resources, paper choice, paints and their qualities and other technical aspects of this art.

The Painted Book

This class incorporates both Painted Pages instruction (and lots of it), and book planning instruction. The book structure has a wooden spine adorned with beads and charms.
