Journals & Journaling

Journaling is a part of my life as an artist, and what keeps me current and busy visually.

My journals are fairly small in page count, to keep me from being intimidated by all the white pages, and to be easier to travel with and complete. Completing a journal is so affirming, I recommend it!

The classes are varied and include at least one book, which we make and then fill up. The focus can be on the structures themselves, or on the techniques to fill them.

Journaling keeps your art alive and moving forward. The pages are places to experiment, dream, and record memories and explore ideas in a contained place meant only for you. We will discuss plans for successful journaling, ideas to use when you have no ideas, and how to "lower your standards" (this idea is essential to practicing art on a daily basis, really!). We will talk about your journal kit for traveling, and an idea book to pull out when you have a blank head. Anyone can do this, even someone who can't draw a straight line, I promise!
