Please join me in Taos, New Mexico, one of my favorite places, for an art-making workshop
October 20-26, 2013
The workshop will be centered around working with color, composition and layering in an artists’ sketchbook. We will make a simple book with great paper, then try all different techniques to fill it up and adorn it.
We will stay at the Gathering Place, and work both outside, weather permitting, and in a studio down the street. The house is filled with art, and the studio is owned by the artist, Dinah Worman.
Here is a link to the blog post about the last time we went. A WEEK IN HEAVEN.
Here is a slideshow from this year.
The cost is $1090 total for a shared room, and $1290 for the one single room. This includes five day workshop, breakfasts and many supplies. Lunch is usually on-the-go and dinners can be communal.
The workshop is limited to ten students, and that gives us lots of room since the house sleeps 20!
We will cover simple bookbinding and many mediums including inks, pencils, paints, collage. We will try drawing, painting and mapping, but no experience is necessary. We will wander and contemplate the essence of Taos and its colorful landscape.
We will read poetry, make charms, visit pueblos, missions and galleries, and we will get to know each other. It will feed your soul, Taos always does.
