Words for the Season

I was asked to donate an ornament to Two Hands Paperie, a spectacular paper, book, and art shop in Boulder owned by my friend Mia Semingson, that will be sold as a fundraiser for Meals on Wheels. Because I love Christmas, and all things holiday related at this time of year, I decided to ponder the season and find words to describe all celebrating going on around me. I have friends that celebrate Hanukkah, Kwanza, Solstice, and Diwali, all these can be described with similar words of observance and intention. Buy Art, Save Friends!

Starting tomorrow, you can buy art and save a friend from the challenges of Breast Cancer. Cloth, Paper, Scissors Magazine’s editor, Jennifer Mason, asked a bunch of us to do a piece of art that will be sold to benefit the National Breast Cancer Foundation. Since I have dear friends and family members that have dealt with this disease, I am highly motivated to help. A few years ago I did the Avon 3-Day walk and raised $4200 for Breast Cancer Research, and had the experience of a lifetime.
