Weather, and lots of it
Posted on October 30, 2009 - Filed Under Uncategorized
Coming home from a glorious trip to Cedarburg, Wisconsin, I am in North Platte, Nebraska, in an inexpensive hotel. Yesterday I stopped here because the roads to Denver from here were closed. The weather, blowing snow and ice, was supposed to calm down last night so I could drive home today. This morning I woke up to this, in the parking lot outside my door.
Can’t even tell which one is my car. I got on the handy dandy internet, and found out all three roads are still closed. Hopefully there is not a wedding party coming in tonight, and I can stay here. I have Peet’s coffee, HGTV, a good book and a car full of (now) frozen Trader Joe’s, if I can get to it. What an adventure! Detoured a little to see the Amish in Iowa, and look where it got me.
I also have my journal, and I am making weather maps. Could be much, much worse. Thanks for all the well wishing, and keep it up so I can get home!

There would be no stories to tell if adventures like this didn’t happen. But you my dear have more than average

OMG Jill….I can’t believe that….and to think you thought you had your BIG adventure on the way to Cedarburg in the rain!! Wow, that is such a crazy picture in the snow! Are you home yet? I ended up going home 4 days early from Chicago because everyone in my niece’s house came down with swine flu and I started not feeling great….so thought it best to get out of dodge! Hope you made it back safely by now….it was great being roomies with you!!! Lots of fun!
