Stormy night

Posted on July 21, 2009 - Filed Under Uncategorized

Last night we had the Mother of All Storms. Lightening cracking down to snap at the ground all around us, wild rain slapping at the windows on every side of the house that turned loudly into aggressive hail. Sydney thinks it is magnificent, throwing open the doors that are being pushed from the force of the wind. Sam is screaming. He is certain that doom is around the corner, that some part of this loud party in the sky is going to enter our house and consume us. We try to calm him, but this is not easy considering the volume of water, wind, lighting and pounding rain. Have you been to the Tiki House at Disneyland? We all know that room has its very own weather that does not affect the rest of Disneyland, just hugs the sides of that particular place. That is what it felt like. Every window in our house was under attack. It felt personal, and thrilling. Finally it calmed down, and the tornado warnings moved to the county next to us. Coincidentally my mom’s friend, who is also mine, sent me this.
