Disintegrating King Pointing a Hairy Finger

To continue the saga of teaching in Estes Park, I will give some visuals.

This is the tree outside my window. Laden. That is the only word for it.

library-18799The snow made the trees into characters, like clouds do. This one looks like a disintegrating king, pointing a hairy finger. I drew him in my journal.

I had the flu the week before I went, and the day’s effort made me so tired I felt geriatric. It was heaven to finally sit by the fire with a book.

mapping-in-estes-01That slice of heaven lasted one hour. Then the lights went off, and it got mighty dark. No stars, no sky, no lights anywhere. There was firewood. Perfect.

I spent the weekend with remarkable women. It is so rich, so rewarding and revealing to teach this class. They are explorers, artists, fighters, heroines. Here is what they did.
