Disintegrating King Pointing a Hairy Finger

To continue the saga of teaching in Estes Park, I will give some visuals.
This is the tree outside my window. Laden. That is the only word for it.
The snow made the trees into characters, like clouds do. This one looks like a disintegrating king, pointing a hairy finger. I drew him in my journal.

I had the flu the week before I went, and the day’s effort made me so tired I felt geriatric. It was heaven to finally sit by the fire with a book.
That slice of heaven lasted one hour. Then the lights went off, and it got mighty dark. No stars, no sky, no lights anywhere. There was firewood. Perfect.

I spent the weekend with remarkable women. It is so rich, so rewarding and revealing to teach this class. They are explorers, artists, fighters, heroines. Here is what they did.
