Spring Break, Day 3

Posted on March 23, 2009 - Filed Under Being an Artist

This is my third day of the house to myself. I am liking it, oh yeah, I could do this more often! My art projects lept all around the house, they areĀ  frolicking in at least four rooms. I have eaten Lean Cuisine and coffee, except yesterday when I went to Rosalba’s house for brunch. Her husband Ben makes the most incredible carne asada, homemade salsa, and grilled veggies…. yummy. That is the only time I have left the house since Saturday, and it was so WORTH it.

In three days I have worked on my trade for Mary Stanley, who is on my list over there to the right. She is an amazing fiber artist (check outĀ  Art Fiberfest, she teaches there) and we both love houses. So, I am making her a house ala my style to trade for one of hers. I will post them both when I am done, maybe tomorrow.

I am also making tiny books for a charm swap. Here they are. They don’t have “content” yet, I am still deciding what they want to say.

charming-booksAnd I am nearly finished with a book I made for my new, unmet friend named Lori, who is giving me a ride to Artfest from Seatac Airport. I will be the navigator on our trip, so I made a book to give her, with all the info I found on the internet. Hopefully we won’t get lost!

My map class handouts are done, and I am done with all my trades for Artfest. Now I only have about 16 more things that need to get done while I have this time…. and I thought I would do some reading, exercising, movie watching. Ha! It is amazing how much I can get done when there is no cooking, cleaning, conflict negotiation, or soccer-momming. I am at the half-way point and counting…..

    Very dear Jill –
I am so very happy that you have such a loving family and a creative, satisfying life.
Every time your Mom tells “Jill/Sidney/Sam/Steve Stories” I smile – inside and out. Wonderful!

    xoxo Jan
