Obamangel
Posted on December 17, 2008 - Filed Under Creative Exercises
This is a small watchmaker’s tin ornament I made for my mother. She likes Obama. Actually, she loves him. Mom and I went to D.C. a few years ago after Art and Soul, and had a very patriotic time of it. We even saw the Queen. Our patriotic connection, as every other connection, goes way back. My husband thought the swinging halo was a bit over the top, but my mother did not. See? I know her pretty well.
I learned this technique from Tracy Bellehumeur, who is a super talented Boulder Book artist, and she learned it from various others. We are all in this soup pot together! At any rate, I am making lots of these and they are so enchanting! After the holidays I can post more of them, but not now, surprise, surprise!

Oops, I hit the wrong key before leaving a message. I enjoyed looking through your blog today. I love the dream journal in the box with all the colors and the interactive one. I will see if this book has hit the bookstore yet because I have a 40% off coupon at Borders that expires today.
Also, if you check my blog here: http://auntiesandy.blogspot.com/2007/09/cast-collage.html there is a post that shows what I did to my cast. The doctor’s office had it hanging on the wall in their office for a bit. I don’t know if it is still there.
Ooooh! An Obamangel! I LOVE it! Gosh, I wish you didn’t live so far away because I want to learn some of your techniques…oh well, guess I have to wait for AU here in Phx.
