These are the finally finished pages of my five days in the picturesque town of Cedarburg, Wisconsin with the creative crew of RAEvN’s Nest Art retreat. We started the day roaming around the town doing wax rubbings and looking at the patterns of architecture there, then came back and made a map of our journey to the retreat. We did an abstract collage, a pocket page with leaves, a small pop-up map of historic Cedarburg, and lots of writing and drawing about what was going on right then. The map of Cedarburg was on the wall at the Stagecoach Inn. Mary Ann helped me photograph it, then I had to Photoshop the frame out and shrink it, then send it to the copy shop to print. What price Art? I just love old maps. On the way to the retreat I read old plat maps of the area, and it seems for a hundred years or so almost nobody moves away from the place. I can see why!

This class is really good for me, it makes me take real notice of where I am, both physically and mentally. It was fun to finish it up this weekend in the mountains on my Journaling retreat. I also worked on a new book, the Temple of Dreams, which I hope to teach next year.

Thanks to all of you who showed up in Cedarburg!beginning of my journey map
