Wow, I have not been here often lately. The launch of my book got distracting. A few weeks ago I was a guest blogger for Alisa Burke, who just had an adorable baby girl. I am going to re-post it here, so all of you can make your own Beach Journal, which you can see finished here and here. You start out by taking a paper four times the width of your journal plus 1″. Italy, Part 3: The Class

Our classroom was in the corner of the convent, overlooking the garden. I gave each of the participants a book with the “cast of Characters”, the mythological and religious figures that have to do with the history of Orvieto. During the week, the students were asked to search the town for signs that the characters were there. A scavenger hunt to add fodder to our stories. We then painted landscapes, drew sketches around town, took photos, did wax rubbings, and use photo transfer techniques to make the story pages having to do with our cast of characters. What an amazing roller coaster my life is right now. The good parts are wonderful, new and exciting, the bad parts are deep-in-the-soul painful. On the side of great things is my new exposure in print, more than four publications already this year, including Somerset Studio.
