I am teaching new class in Denver called

Creating Collage Elements

Tuition: $125 for members.  $155 for non-members (includes guild membership through May 1, 2016)

Location: Denver Bookbinding, 1401 W 47th Ave, Denver, CO 80211  (for map and directions see

We will create three kinds of surfaces

  1. Art “skins” from acrylic gels and mediums
  2. Hand painted art tissue
  3. mono-prints on organic and synthetic gelatin platesAll three of these techniques can be used to create layers of collage elements that are both beautiful and colorful.

As a Certified Arts Educator for Golden Paints, I will share with you how to use their varied mediums (and other brands too) to create these surfaces. I will show you how to make a gelatin plate for printing (or where to buy one), and how to paint art tissues to create almost fabric-like surfaces. We will try a few simple compositions and talk about how to combine the skins with papers of all kinds.

Kit fee:  $30 covers all the materials to make the skins, and the panels to use for our finished pieces, and most of the other supplies used in these techniques. You will come away with lots of papers, skins and some finished work.

You need:
Mod Podge or Matte Medium Gel
A water container
Paper towels
Paintbrushes for acrylics
Scraps of calligraphy, papers, paste papers and other thin elements to use in collage
