Dawn DeVries Sokol creates books that make it easy to journal. Her newest is a round robin book for groups of women that want to create together. My gal pals came by for a day of journal making and added to my copy. We range in age from 40-67.

The first part is to introduce ourselves again as Circle Sisters. I found out that day that my friend Ann was born in the same city as I was, Pasadena, California.

Then we assign ourselves a symbol that we feel personifies us. I am all about the symbols. Can you guess which one is me?

One of the next assignments is to doodle a word that we like. Some of us could not stop at one.

Working in collaboration has been really fun for me when the art and enthusiasm are fired up. Dawn has made this super accessible with this new little book! We are all blogging with ideas, check them out and leave a comment for a chance to win a signed copy!

  8. I suspect that the little hand in the top right is your symbol. This book is a great idea… maybe when I doodle there will be a little treasure revealed that comes straight from the subconscious.

  9. What a cool idea. I love the “pick a symbol” notion.

After we had done a few “Ugly Paper Competitions” in our group [everybody picks a paper they ordinarily would pass by] we discovered that we each gravitate to a shape and a colour or colour combination.

Adding or incorporating a symbol into that mix is right up my alley. I’m also all about the symbols from my interest in typography.

This is my first “blog hop”, what a lovely way to find new interesting places on the Internets.
