“We are not here to fit in, be well balanced, or provide exempla for others. We are here to be eccentric, different, perhaps strange, perhaps merely to add our small piece, our little clunky, chunky selves, to the great mosaic of being. As the gods intended, we are here to become more and more ourselves.” ― James Hollis, What Matters Most: Living a More Considered Life
Right now I am questioning many things, what am doing and why, who I am doing that with. This quote came from a book my mother is reading this morning as I am sitting with my computer and she is lounging with her book in a small cabin in the Rockies. What a gift this is, what kind permission to be on the track I am on.
Today my sister and I will work on our book, our kids will go off to camp to challenge themselves on ropes courses. We will appreciate the solid surround of the gigantic peaks of the Rockies, the blue true sky and perhaps rain later on. And throughout this day, I will give myself permission to be me, the best me I can be.
