TEXTures Stencil Launch and Giveaway!

Posted by on Nov 30, 2012 in Giveaway!, My Products, My techniques, What I am up to | 154 comments

I have exciting news!

I have been busy, and one of the things I have been doing is designing stencils for Artistcellar. Their stencils are both beautifully made and designed,  and I am excited to be the first of their “Artist Signature Series.”

My stencil set is called “TEXTures”. There are four stencils, all made from my calligraphy, which is pretty much letters telling a story that might not be legible. They are meant to add text and texture to your pages or projects that might need some storytelling.

The four styles are Runes, Roadmap, Rivermap and Romans. Each one is based on my abstracted calligraphic works that you can see on my website.

Runes are playful symbols that I invented, that can represent anything you like.

Romans is bit of poetry in the style I use in my journals, which is Roman letters using a flat brush.

Rivermap is a fluid map of the rivers near my house, done in a flowing style with a ruling pen.

Roadmap is text of a trip I took through the desert, at night.

This post is a part of a two week blog hop.

You have 12 chances to win a set of these stencils.

You can leave a comment here, and then check out the projects that all these talented folks have done with these stencils. Leave a comment on their posts too, for more chances to win!

Starting on Monday, leave a comment on each of the following blogs for 12 chances to win!

I will draw a name on December 14, 2012, the last day of the hop!

  119. These are wonderful! They’ll add wonderful complexity to my backgrounds.

  120. Wow Jill , the more I learn about the map mind of you the more humbled I feel about me. You’re an amazing lovely person! Love seeing all the new info about what you’re creating and taking part in, like the stenciling. I bet it would have been a blast to take one of your classes at the universties you’ve taught at too!!!! Hearing about your experiences and the intonations of your voiceit’s easy to tell you are a kind soul. I’ve knowns that already from your unique and intreging book, and from how personable you’ve been with me in the past but still…. Loved all your heart maps and hearing about how mapping has been so theraputic for people you have met. Especially fond of the abstract maps you showed on the talk show slide show. Can’t wait to see the pastels from the air! Recently travelled to Georgia and was also inspired by looking down and imagining angels watching over us and what they might see by city, air and country, map like thoughts with celestial beings getting involved. I drew a picture of this and then water colored afterwards. I titled it “THE WATCHERS”!
Personally love working with mixed media and would love to use these stencils of yours as backgrounds with wood icing!!!! You are a true inspiration for me Jill. Congratulations on these new edevours and I will be following all your neat art ideas!!!!Hugs, Sanna
