Pulse Points with Seth Apter

Today I will be featured on Seth Apter’s blog in a feature he calls “Pulse Points”. This is a feature also of CreateMixedMedia.com, where you can read other artists’ answers to questions he posed to us about being/living/art-making and balance.

It is easy to think my experience as a mixed media artist and author would be comparable to those around me. We work in the same places, often with the same people. We make art when not teaching or writing. Beauty is a thread that binds us, but from there it varies as to what our experiences, goals and intentions are as artists, and that is why I find so much value in the thoughtful questions Seth asks.

His book The Pulse of Mixed Media is a compilation of art and thoughts of over 100 artists, and he did a book tour, which brought him to my town last year. He struck me as one of the kindest, most thoughtful people I have met in this industry. And it turns out we have lots and lots of friends in common. Check it out. Dive into the minds of creative types he interviews. It is a treasure trove of inspiration.
