Inventing Alphabets

It has been ages since I have been here, I am ramping up now to come back with a bang. Family, schedules, all of it fell at my feet and stopped me from doing anything else. I missed being here, in the same way I miss journaling when I don’t do it for a while.
In October I went to Portland, Oregon to teach for Art & Soul Retreats. They have a new venue right on the Columbia river. My class faced the water, and we watched this happy face barge go by, right out our window.

My brother Andrew and I went canoeing on the Willamette River. We also went to see the Vaux Swifts, small fast birds, gather at Chapman Elementary School at sunset. Read about them here. See a video here.

Loved the venue, loved my classes. One of them I will tell you about on this post, it was called “Under the Influence”. The other two were lettering classes, which in this case I call “Journal Texting”. The advanced class designed an alphabet, and I wish I could include every single creative letter they did, but I did make something to show you. Check this out.

Look for more of these classes at Art & Soul in Kansas City and Virginia Beach, VA, both in April 2013. Hope to see you there!

  1. What a delightful reminder of a fabulous exercise. The class was great, and finally got my over my long term fear of letters!

  2. I loved meeting you Christine, in real life I mean. Thank you so much for coming. Our paths will continue to cross….
