CHA and other events

On Saturday I will head out for a week in California, mostly to attend the CHA convention.

While there, I have a couple of events where I will be sighted, so please stop and say hello if you are also going.

Monday, January 30 @ 11:00am at the R&M West Coast booth: book signing
Monday, January 30 @ 4:00pm at the F+W booth: book signing
Tuesday, January 31 @ 10:00am demo at the Creative Imaginations for Twinkling H2Os

On February 4th, the following Saturday, I will be spending the day journaling with Orly Avineri. There are a couple of spaces left if you would like to join us in Redondo Beach. I can just imagine this group, it will be wonderfully creative and I know how filled up I will be when I leave. Get more information about this day here.

In the meantime, I am working on scenes from the sky. I am stricken with the beauty of the earth from soaring above it. Having traveled so often between Denver and Wisconsin, I have had the supreme pleasure of flying fairly often over Kansas. Here is what I see.

What I am working on now is celebrating this kind of view. I am painting, a lot. Here is a tiny detail of a bird’s eye view of my backyard.

You will see this technique in the May issue of Cloth, Paper, Scissors! Yay! I am so excited to be invited to do this, I have wanted to do something for that magazine for a very long time.

One more thing, if you are interested in my webinar, My Journey With Maps, you can see it here.

More tomorrow!

  1. I enjoy reading your blog and your work. I see you are going to be at the CHA Trade Show in Anaheim. A word of caution, my husband and I were there last weekend for the NAMM Trade Show. We walked from there over to Disney Town and had lunch at Tortilla Joe’s. We then got stricken with dramatic, painful, end of trade show time for us, food poisoning. When we got home I looked this restaurant up, they have been written up numerous times for health food violations by Orange County, Nov. 2011, Dec. 2011 and now I guess they can add Jan. 2012 because I filed a complaint. Roy’s however, over by the West Katella Street was terrific, we ate there twice, with another couple. They did not join us at Tortilla Joes and they did not get sick….
